This Privacy Policy explains how LAND/SPLIT ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores, and discloses your personal information when you use the Service at landsplit.net. The Service is operated by Jake Vicary, an Australian sole trader.

We are committed to handling your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

4. Data Storage and Security

Your account data is stored in a SQLite database hosted on Railway's cloud infrastructure. Railway's servers are located in the United States.

By using the Service, you consent to your personal information being stored and processed outside Australia. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and JWT-based authentication.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law (e.g., financial records).

Server logs are retained for up to 90 days for security and debugging purposes.

7. Cookies

LAND/SPLIT uses localStorage in your browser to store your authentication token and user preferences (map settings, saved filters). We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

The Service is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by a notice on the Service. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
